Brookline worked alongside ATCOenergy to bring awareness to changes Albertans and their electricity bills in 2025. Earlier this year, the Rate of Last Resort (RoLR) became the new default electricity rate in Alberta, replacing the Regulated Rate Option (RRO).

With a change that impacted more than 450,000 homes and businesses across the province we call home, the Brookline team was eager to step in and help spread the word. We worked closely with ATCOenergy to develop an effective campaign, including influencer relations, media relations and a media buy.

To create awareness, Brookline engaged with an Albertan-based influencer to promote the changes and speak about the impacts of RoLR on Albertans. Our team acted as the point of contact between the influencer and ATCOenergy team to ensure seamless communication between both parties.

In tandem with influencer content, Brookline reached out to outlets and coordinated media buys to ensure that the information was both more easily accessible and widely received. The ad buy was strategically created to highlight the changes and impacts on consumers throughout Alberta and offered insight into the various and flexible plans that ATCOenergy offers. Between acting as a liaison between influencers and media and the coordination of an effective ad buy, Brookline worked closely with ATCOenergy to get the RoLR message out and ensure that Albertans know all about what is going on with their electricity bill!
