Energy Powering Opportunity: Global Energy Show Canada returns to Calgary
In June 2024, the Global Energy Show Canada (GESC) returned to Calgary and Brookline was onsite to help build the excitement! Our team was thrilled to support with media relations, content development and onsite media coordination for the event.
The theme for this year’s show was “Energy Powering Opportunity,” and it certainly did not disappoint. Nearly 32,000 attendees and 500 exhibitors from 103 countries gathered to exchange ideas, explore innovations and drive the future of energy.
To kick things off, our team crafted a press release announcing the show’s grand return to Calgary. With our fingers on the pulse of the local media scene and leveraging our strong connections, we made sure the news couldn’t be missed.
Once the show was underway, we were right in the thick of it all onsite managing the whirlwind of media activities. From drafting and distributing a media advisory packed with must-know details to coordinating interviews with key players from dmg events, top exhibitors and speakers, we had it covered. And yes, we were ready to tackle any unexpected twists with our issues management expertise – just in case!
As the final day wrapped up, we got to work on a press release to capture all the highlights including the impressive attendance numbers, inspiring speakers, award winners and all the other exciting moments that made the event a hit.
At the end of the day, our hard work paid off in a big way. In less than two weeks, an astounding 856 pieces of coverage were published! This included 83 television clips, 106 radio mentions, 651 online stories and 16 print articles that reached a combined audience of over 715 million.
Even more impressive? The advertising value equivalency (AVE) of this coverage was more than $6.5 million. Talk about making an impact!
And the buzz didn’t stop there. Fifty social media posts were published on X by media outlets including Global News, CTV News, CBC News, CityNews, The Calgary Herald, The Calgary Sun, Financial Post, National Post, Edmonton Journal, The Edmonton Sun, Western Standard, Daily Oil Bulletin and more.
Supporting GESC was truly an energizing experience! We were thrilled to be part of this event to showcase Calgary as a hub for energy innovation and opportunity.
Whether you’re an energy enthusiast or just someone who loves seeing big ideas come to life, GESC is the place to be. Until next year!
