Brookliners love to celebrate any and all holidays – so we were full of jolly when our client Rümi engaged us to support the planning, execution and promotion of its second annual Winter Wonderfest.
Winter Wonderfest is a community event that brings together Rümi and its sister brands ATCOenergy and Blue Flame Kitchen to put on a holiday celebration in support of local charitable organizations. This year, all admission proceeds went directly to Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta and eventgoers were encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys which were donated to the Women in Need Society (WINs).
Brookline worked alongside the Rümi team to plan and execute this highly anticipated holiday event. The Brookline elves managed vendor coordination with a local face painter and glitter tattooist, Santa and Mrs. Clause (a father-daughter duo who have been creating holiday magic for kids for years), a beautiful choir, and talented Calgary-based photographer to ensure the event day was full of constant activations and holiday sparkle.
To create awareness, Brookline engaged numerous Calgary-based influencers to run ticket giveaways and pre-event promotions to their dedicated follower bases. Running parallel to the influencer engagements, Brookline executed a full media relations and ad buy campaign in the lead up to Winter Wonderfest to ensure Calgarians were aware of the event. Brookline worked with Blue Flame Kitchen to create magical media and influencer drops with homemade cookies, helping to spread the (yummy) holiday joy to newsrooms and influencers.
Brookline made sure the event went off without a hitch, including staffing the event with student volunteers from Mount Royal University, which provided them with hands on event experience to complement their public relations schooling. The Brookline team managed the full day, from setup to tear down, and was able to troubleshoot on the fly to help make Winter Wonderfest 2023 a success!
In addition to Winter Wonderfest, Brookline also supported Rumi’s second holiday fundraiser, photos with Santa at the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market. Brookline was tasked with coordinating volunteers to ensure the activation ran smoothly. Between both events, $17,000 was raised for Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta! Winter Wonderfest also saw a ton of new, unopened toys that were donated to the Womens in Need Society (WINS). The Brookline elves enjoyed bringing the holiday magic to Calgarians with Rümi, ATCOenergy and Blue Flame Kitchen!
